Two things always come to mind with this argument a) if you DO follow the logic (for arguments sake) that plants suffer and feel pain, then the other logical conclusion is to eat them as primary source food, not as secondary and primary source, i.e. eating some plants yourself, then eating animals who have to eat those plants as well. (cough veganism cough) b) I would never accept an ethic that rejected my right to self preservation. I can live without eating meat.
